A Powerful Owl was presented to Blue and White Veterinary clinic for assessment this week after the animal was been hit by a car. The animal was in good condition except for some asymmetry in the shape of the pupils that may have been the result of a head trauma caused during the accident. Dr Carmen Colitz, an exotic animal opthalmologist based in the US has been consulted to determine the best course of treatment. Powerful owls are the largest owl in Australia and are endemic to Eastern Australia and predominantly prey on small arboreal marsupials like possums and gliders. Given these animals are monogamous and mate for life, it would be great to get this animal back to health and back out into the wild to find its mate
